29 not out

November 29, 2007 by

Wouldn’t it just SUCK to forget to post tonight? To get all the way to the penultimate day of NaBlo and to blow it then. I’m not in danger, I just remembered and it’s only 11pm. Plenty of time to document the day. And if I do document it, promise you won’t get weirded out, ok? It was a bit of God day. Or at least, it started that way.
This is what I mean…
One of the things that happens at the end of every year in college/uni is that we all get prayed for to see us on our way into our future; whether that future means coming back for more college or going on to the next thing. It’s nice, kind of a blessing. It’s a bonus that the college is small, around 300 students otherwise it could take quite some time because each student is prayed for individually, as it is it takes the week, as we’re only there for the mornings… and the poor person praying, they’d be shattered…
…anyway…
… what happens is that the person praying for you is talking with God while he’s praying for you and will tell you what God’s saying to him/her about you; a prophecy, if you will. (Stay with me, you’ve been to a psychic, right? Well, it’s no weirder than that… seriously). And blow me down if much of the time it isn’t as if someone was reading your mail.
Today was very much like that for me. If I had a copy of the audio I’d put some in, I’ll have to get hold of it tomorrow. In the meantime it’s good to know I’m on the right track that the future is bright and that God smiles.
Pretty much what you’d ever want to hear really except that it felt as though it was very specific to my plans for next year… and I’m happy about that.

Top Marks

November 28, 2007 by

That marathon assignment, that major work of all major works that took me OMG too many sleepless nights and days of mucus to finish, came back to me today.
With a stamp of 89%. That’s a High Enough distinction in my book.
Yay.
Totally worth the effort even if I was a little verbose… when you work that hard you really could care less that those extra 600 words cost you marks. Especially when the marks are that good.
That’s one point off 90%.
I am v pleased… can you tell?

Heading for the Med

November 27, 2007 by

Wouldn’t THAT be a treat… as it is I’m heading for the Mediterranean Kitchen in lieu of the real deal to catch up with friends who are in town briefly from America.
It as isn’t unusual to see them as one may imagine with friends from so far away (Washington DC) but Nobill is a bit in demand as a speaker on the physics circuit (there’s such a thing? Who knew!) so I see them every 18 months or so.
I love that we’re eating somewhere other than the city, I get to do a bit of exploring, before it gets dark. I NEVER go over that side of town, so tonight’s an adventure.
I’ll post a restaurant review if it isn’t too late when I get home!
