It is not normally in my nature to be spontaneous. I am reasonably measured about deciding to do things, particularly where there is the exchange of cash involved. So you may be surprised to know that this morning I spent some time surfing the web for airfares to go for a visit to see Bliss. Imagining that I may go up in a few weeks, we had talked about trying to find a weekend when I could go up and spend some time in her new house.
The thing is, I have been missing her rather dreadfully. I have been cranky and touchy for weeks and haven’t been friendly to the boys and girls I work with. I really was due a couple of days off and wasn’t going to last until Easter, or until I got to NZ, which has it’s own challenges and stresses…
So, I was scoping out airfares, thinking about Bliss and the fact that she is on holidays this week and I had that thought, the one that says “you know, there’s really was no reason you couldn’t take a couple of days out of your annual allowance and go up to see her while she’s on break…”
I batted my eyelashes at the boss who said I could have Monday and Friday off… (I think he is nice to me given the last boss I worked for) and then rang Bliss.
She practially dropped the phone.
I’m thinking I might even leave the laptop at home..
Oooh now that’s scary.

Fantabulous. Have a great time. And say hi to Bliss for me.

That sounds really cool. Have a good time.
It’s amazing how good it can be not to have a computer at times too…

Surely the laptop deserves a little holiday as well…

My Lord, using annual leave! Taking a day (or even two) off!! I think you’re just about healed!!!
PS don’t believe for a minute about leaving the laptop at home …..
