Gabrielle inspired me last week. I’ve been remiss with the camera of late (except where it pertains to shooting kittens/cats) so I took a leaf out of her book and took my camera out with me on Saturday morning… Let me introduce you to Manly, a hop, skip and a jump from my flat. The Main Drag, the Corso… the harbour at one end and the ocean at the other… Gorgeous.
The Manly ferry, half hourly between the city and the Beach. An icon all on its own.
The Tree at the End of the Corso – EVERYONE was here.
My favourite Manly restaurant… schnitzel to die for and a beer menu that should be illegal.
This is a way cool store in the perfect place… So many homesick tourists and everything they ever missed from home… Their website’s not quite up… but when it is, you’ll find it here Hello Sweetie
The Ferry just arrived…
Off the edge of the Wharf to the ‘Shallow End’ – shark nets and no waves…
Where the waves are at.
The new fountains. I’m bummed I missed getting a shot of a woman washing her feet here!

On closer inspection it isn’t actually Hello Kitty… but you get the idea…
A Sculptural Icon on the Corso.

You know, it’s sad but the most amount of time I ever spent at Manly was in Brookvale Oval.
My husband was a Sea Eagles fan, back when they were good.

Hmmm, that was a while ago Ms Mac… they had a good run early last year but went to custard at the crucial time… Maybe THIS year…

Ah yes! Brings back memories. Used to work off the Corso (the street where the New Brighton Pub is) – Woollies for Giant Tim Tams, the Charcoal Chicken for chick&cheese toasted sarnies and Hungry Jack’s on a Friday.
Funny how my memories revolve around food!

Great pictures.

Thanks for the shots! So great to see the Australian sun :-( I don’t think you’d see ANYONE here carving their names into a tree.

That restaurant sounds goooooooood. I can’t get schnitzel over here, but developed a taste for it in Austria and Switzerland.
