Day 15 – A Hand You Could only Dream of…

Originally uploaded by deeleea

I’ve been a bit busy to come up with scintillating posts… I’ve an exam tomorrow… but there’s always enough room in the procrastination schedule for a 365 photo… and a bit of a quiz!!!

I’m off to play cards tonight… This hand would be enough for me to win the game first round…

So what’s the name of the game?

*UPDATE* The game is 500. T&E was probably closest as it shares some characteristics with Bridge. There’s more info about it here. It has quite a following in the Antipodes for some reason… everyone who did recognize it has some connection there!! If you get the chance and find a Kiwi or Aussie who knows how to play get a four together and give it a shot. It’s [ahem] Ace!!

(Oh, and the reason this hand is so good? Is that it is the highest cards from a hearts as trumps hand and I could bid 10 hearts and get 500 points all in one go… no one could beat it…)

    500!
I love that game. I haven’t found anyone in France that knows it, and playing it only with my husband isn’t quite as fun ;)

    Outstanding Katia!! Well done…
Of course there are few outside of NZ and Australia who would recognize it… as far as I know anyway!

I was going to say that it’s only a great hand if you have hearts as trumps…

Thanks – quite tricky, I would imagine – I once had a camera which had an infrared remote – useful when trying to include myself in a picture.

Chas, it’s a the magic of self timer, tripod and sometimes a steady hand with a long reach!

The cards one was a tripod self timer job. As were most. The cat and me on the floor, and the mirror shots are all long reach… hence the occasional bit of movement…
