Stuffed

December 9, 2004 by

Where I come from, stuffed usually means tired, evervated, knackered … Here it means full, replete to the point of excess…

For me, today, I am claiming both meanings for myself… At two parties I have eaten enough to feed a small 3rd world nation and I am climbing into bed at midnight.

Our staff Christmas ‘do’ was at a fine harborside restuaurant serving Sydneys finest seafood *gags* fortunately for us old testament eaters there was a delish lamb all served silver service and with lots of lovely non alcoholic drinks (I work for a church… remember?). It was all lovely, and yummy and very chatty etc but the piece de resistance of the meal was the massage.

Yep, you heard read me right, the massage.

3 Minute Angels came and spread their brand of Christmas cheer and gave us all 5 minute neck and shoulder massages…

Mmmmmm bliss… Zzzzzzzz Zzzzzzzz

15 mins of Fame

December 2, 2004 by

I have another opportunity like the Idol one.. though perhaps, slightly more uncool… all for $100 dollars pocket money (maybe 200) and 6 free cds…

I am shooting an infomercial next Thursday…

I know… what are they thinking? Is it not bad enough that I’m comfortably upholstered? Now I have to gain that on camera 10lbs and show it off to the whole of Australia!!!!

I must be insane…

Still, I decided, after shying away from these kind of opportunities in the past, that I would take them up when I could… hence the ‘yes’ vote when asked to listen to these cds and undertake an on camera interview to tell the director of the commercial how great the are!

It’s for the latest collection of Time Life ‘Songs 4 Worship’ – you know, those collections of choruses that are sold in the middle of the night on the telly!!!

Well, if you stay up late enough and assuming my ugly mug doesn’t get left on the cutting room floor, you might get to see me… (if the camera likes me extra 10lbs and all…). If I am one of the favoured and my interview is included I will get an extra hundred bucks into the bargain… Christmas Money – gotta be happy with that, right? Not to mention getting my make up done and having wardrobe provided… Gotta be good for you… Unless I have to wear a suitably conservative Floral number…

Actually, I’m not sure if I get to keep the cds – oh well, I own most of the albums these songs are collected from anyway… At least I wont have to lie if asked “did you listen to them?”

Wend One’s Way Through Wednesday

December 2, 2004 by

The Opening and Closing of a day make whatever happens in the middle insiginficant I think.

Today started with our staff meeting which to the uninitiated looks just like [our] church services only shorter and without the offering. Somedays the singing can be a real drag, and sometimes it isn’t (like realy church really). I was singing with the team this morning, something I am newly returned to after 2 years off, and it was a truly great service. It just felt like being with God and it was lovely.

The closing of the day was spend with some of the girls over dinner and dessert and a movie (Raising Helen). I am blessed to have such incredible women within my circle of friends. All of them totally unique, they may have no more stuff in common than their acquaintance with me but conversation flowed and the movie was a hit. Felt like being with God and it was lovely.
