The Word is Spreading

August 31, 2004 by

The secret appears to be out at work so it might as well be out here too …

I have a new job.

*smile* *smile* *smile* *smile* *smile* *smile* *smile* *smile* *smile* *smile*

I am Happy about it.

I am staying with the ‘company’ but moving from the Music Department into the IT department… Bit of a departure from the norm but jolly good for me.

A lot of the difficulties at work are connected to the shrink thing I alluded to earlier. So for me, there has been a lot of angst and decision making concerning whether I stay with this outfit or go looking elsewhere. Crazy thing is, all of the other doors I had pushed on were firmly closed… It was a massive learning curve for me to sit back when everything in me wanted to leave and to let managers above me look over things and rearrange the situation to suit everybody. An exercise in trust.

Phew… It worked.

Expectant

August 29, 2004 by

I have two sisters. They Both Rock.

I think a sister is a special thing. No one else remembers you before you were famous and loves you still.

Actually I was never famous, at least not yet. One day I will be the lady who reads the books she wrote to kids in the library – I will consider myself famous then.

Anyway. Did I mention I have two sisters?

Flit is the younger of the two, they are both younger than me by the way, both are married, one has a son, the other may well have one in March.

That’s the big news, Flit is, how shall we put it?

Up the Duff.

I love it. Another niece or nephew. Apparently a nephew, as the room has been painted blue (instead of green …). But I think, a niece. As it is I have two nephews and a niece (our brother has a son and daughter). Another niece would balance things nicely.

Best of Both Worlds

August 28, 2004 by

While, at this stage, I am not a dual citizen of NZ and Australia, I have to admit to pride on behalf of both Nations. As the Olympics draw to a close I thought it cool to reflect on our achievements this far. Hence the following list of medals from two of the greatest countries on earth.

Until this week I really felt as though NZ was going to go home empty handed so I am thrilled to find 3 golds and a couple of silver on their table of achievements.

Australia have kicked butt in several areas and a table like that is proof positive we spend way too much time and money on sport – for a country of 20 million to pull of such a pile of medals is wild!

Therapy – Is it a Dirty Word?

August 25, 2004 by

I had an appointment with my therapist today.

I’m Serious!!!

For 4 months now, about once every 3 weeks, I have been “debriefing” an abusive relationship (not a romantic relationship) with a psychologist. Thankfully I am on the far side of the issues now which is a great relief and the process of rebuilding my life, hopes, dreams and expectations is well and truly under way.

Because there has been so much emotional tangle to undo it has been really useful having someone to talk things through with and help make sense of what I am feeling. In fact, lately, now that the relationship is severed and the initial upheaval is over, I have really only consulted her to make sure my reactions and my feelings, when things come up, are healthy rather than coloured by the damaged parts of me.

So between this blog and therapy I am feeling pretty bl**dy good and the damaged areas are getting smaller by the day. Tell you what, I don’t know know how people get through life without God. I think I would be whimpering in a soft dark room somewhere without him!

Instead, I am taking more ground than should be legal …

You gotta be happy with that.
