29 not out

November 29, 2007 by

Wouldn’t it just SUCK to forget to post tonight? To get all the way to the penultimate day of NaBlo and to blow it then. I’m not in danger, I just remembered and it’s only 11pm. Plenty of time to document the day. And if I do document it, promise you won’t get weirded out, ok? It was a bit of God day. Or at least, it started that way.
This is what I mean…
One of the things that happens at the end of every year in college/uni is that we all get prayed for to see us on our way into our future; whether that future means coming back for more college or going on to the next thing. It’s nice, kind of a blessing. It’s a bonus that the college is small, around 300 students otherwise it could take quite some time because each student is prayed for individually, as it is it takes the week, as we’re only there for the mornings… and the poor person praying, they’d be shattered…
…anyway…
… what happens is that the person praying for you is talking with God while he’s praying for you and will tell you what God’s saying to him/her about you; a prophecy, if you will. (Stay with me, you’ve been to a psychic, right? Well, it’s no weirder than that… seriously). And blow me down if much of the time it isn’t as if someone was reading your mail.
Today was very much like that for me. If I had a copy of the audio I’d put some in, I’ll have to get hold of it tomorrow. In the meantime it’s good to know I’m on the right track that the future is bright and that God smiles.
Pretty much what you’d ever want to hear really except that it felt as though it was very specific to my plans for next year… and I’m happy about that.

My Desktop Free View

October 14, 2007 by

I should be doing background reading for my research project but I have the mother of all headaches so I’ve been snoozing in a darkened room and reading blogs. It was over at Gabrielle’s that I came across this meme… how was I to resist?? Apparently it was started here.. so link back if you’re getting on this bandwagon too…
Here’s how it works…
A. Upon receiving this tag, immediately perform a screen capture of your desktop. It is best that no icons be deleted before the screen capture so as to add to the element of fun. You can do a screen capture by going to your desktop and pressing the Print Scrn key (located on the right side of the F12 key). For Macs, press shift-option-3 then look for the .png file on your desktop. Open a graphics program (like Picture Manager, Paint, or Photoshop) and do a Paste (CTRL + V).
If you wish, you can “edit” the image, before saving it.
B. Post the picture in your blog. You can also give a short explanation on the look of your desktop just below it if you want. You can explain why you preferred such look or why is it full of icons. Things like that.
C. Tag five of your friends and ask them to give you a Free View of their desktop as well.
D. Add your name to the list of Free Viewers below with a link pointing directly to your Desktop Free View post to promote it to succeeding participants.
The list of Free Viewers so far is:
iRonnie – I Set No Corner
Thess – Thesserie
Rebecca – Skippy Heart
Knoizki – A Dialogue With K
Beng – Kauderwelch
Tina- My Good Finds
Rachel – Heart of Rachel
Alice – Hello, My Name Is Alice
Julia – Julia’s Books Corner!
Darla – Nichtszusagen
Marg – Reading Adventures
Holly – What Were you Expecting?
ames – Thrifty Reader
Dev – Good Reads
Rosie – Nobody asked me…
Gabrielle – Diary of an Adult Runaway
Deeleea – Singular Scene
Here’s mine… hope you’ve got pop-ups enabled… coz it don’t look like nuffin till you blow it up… go on – click… you know you want to!!
