November is Over

November 30, 2005 by

And I failed.

I’m ok about it… To win would have been to write in every waking minute and burnout was on the agenda if I did that.

I’m not sure if it still isn’t.

Still, next Wednesday is our slap up staff Chrissy lunch and then the offices are closed from Dec 23 to Jan 3 and I don’t have to use up annual leave to qualify for that time off…

Hooray.

I’m well ready.

I’m holding Red responsible for the fact I’m not going to finish Nano…

Ten years ago
I had just moved to Whangarei in the North Island of NZ. A move that took me from the big smoke of Auckland to a small rural city and it felt like I could breathe again. Now I live in Sydney Australia… Not sure what went wrong there…

Five years ago
I was still a student… just finishing up my 2nd year of a singing diploma. Not currently singing… Not sure what went wrong there either

One year ago
I was 2 months into my new job as a Web Princess… it came hot on the heels of 6 months from hell… It was a good move.

Lunch for Three

November 22, 2005 by

God showed up in my car yesterday.

Which is a rather good thing considering I haven’t actually been able to locate him anywhere else lately… I felt a bit like that t-shirt that says “I found Jesus! – He was behind the sofa the whole time!” Except he was in my car.

Roo’s having a tough time. I’d kind of noticed it last week when we were travelling to and from the Bigger than Big Thing (which probably won’t be the Last Big Thing we ever do [dammit].)

Anyway, I was needing to get out of the office at lunchtime and thought I’d see if she wanted to join me. So we shot off up the road to the nearest shopping precinct to find a cafe. Except we stayed in the car. I’m not much of a pastor really, and so I just listened and passed the tissues while Roo told me stories that would curl your hair.

After all the tissues were passed and all the stories were told I prayed – which was when Jesus showed up.

It feels pretty good to know that even when I’m wondering why I do what I do where I do it, all I have to to is start talking to Him and He shows up.

Guess he kinda likes to hang out more than I do.

If he’s going to show up like that then I’m pretty sure I can keep doing what I do until I know if I’m meant to be doing something else.

It is Finished

November 19, 2005 by

The Bigger than Big Thing?

Is Over and Out.

I believe it can be called a success.

I am feeling the pain of it… when you have spent 3 nights walking a solid concrete floor in cheap boots and holding a fairly heavy camera up to your eye, the eye you keep open while the other is firmly closed, you’d have to expect your body not to forgive you immediately… and so my left eye (the one kept closed) feels wonky, my face aches from squinting for 3 nights and my shoulders and neck are anxious for a massage…

I have 8 cds worth of photos to show for my trouble though, some of which will appear in New Life newspaper but most of which will be relegated to the website or the rchives,.

And tomorrow I have to be at a wedding at 11.

I thought on the way to the Big Thing today that I spend my time wishing my life away, looking forward until the next event is over.

Today I feel like something has to change.

But I have no idea what it is.
