Sick on Holidays

January 4, 2005 by

There are many things in life that are unfair.

Now, at the risk of being called selfish, I am thinking about the small unfair things, not the huge outrageously unfair things like Tsunami’s and terrorist plots and war.

I think it is unfair to have the first thing happen to you in a New Year to be sickness.. especially when this is the first holiday I have had since July!

Unfair.

Bad Form…

Etc.

So, apart from the fact I have been without internet service for a week while I change phone providers, I have had a massive does of the bone aching, fever producing, throat constricting flu.

Gross…

What is also unfair is to have to get my sorry self out of bed after a whole night without sleep to purchase drugs…

Not fair to have a flatmate who’s first respose is “don’t give it to me” and friends who are too busy to make a mercy dash to the pharmacy.

Sigh.

I am sure life will be more fair when I am feeling better…

’till then, all prayers for healing gratefully received.

Total sympathy from this part of the world. I was taken ill on New Year’s Eve, two days after my Dad had gone off to my sister’s to give me a break, and recovered yesterday in time to go back to work. Unfair (on a small scale) indeed. Humph!

    Hope you’re feeling better too.

If I was there, I’d definitely go on a mercy run to the pharmacy!

As it is, I can only say that prayer and wish you a speedy recovery. (And if I get myself in gear, write you a reply to those lovely e-mails you’ve sent me.)

On the bright side: Your new year can ONLY get better!
