I neglected to mention some of the dubious music on the ipod yesterday…
Well, dubious in the age of it more than anything… you know, those embarassing ’80’s classics that you STILL have to boogie to in your chair….
That’s me, right now, jiving to Nik Kershaw (yes I still have the ’80’s stuff in my collection)…
And it’s taking me back to the living room at Mills Road and the vinyl and turntable and Human Racing … Wouldn’t it Be Good, Drum Talk…
And all at once I am sitting with Richard’s Son, my then best mate who stopped being a friend when he stopped being my boyfriend some months later and I wish things were that simple once again.

Glad to have inspired some reflections!!! That’s one of the things I just love about music, the way it can take you back to another time and place just by listening to it!
And, even though I’m under 30, I can claim to have heard of Nick Kershaw. Although I’m still hopelessly ignorant as to any of his music :)
Semele says
Yes, yes, I’m under 30.

Ahh Nik Kershaw I still remember the trippy video with the maze and it was a lot of black and white.
Miss Lisa says
Semele, you’re under 30 right :)
looooove Nik Kershaw – wouldn’t it be good :)
I HAPPILY admit to having 80’s Power Ballads 1 AND 2 on my work computer … and having now rushed off (figuratively obviously) and wacked Power Ballads 1 on! currently playing Queen – Who Wants to Live Forever … great way to go through a Long Weekend Friday!
