Keeping Mum

October 10, 2005 by

I know how to do stuff. Stuff that is technical… stuff that other people often ask me about.

Stuff like setting up the TV and Video and DVD Player and Stero and Sound System. Actually, I used to do this for a living… over the phone no less.

As I write Flick is setting up the TV and Sound System and I am keeping my mouth shut. After all, she is a TV/Video editor, she ought to know how to do it. She also doesn’t take kindly to my helping.

The DVD player and the stereo system belongs to her and as I don’t want to provoke a riot I will continue to keep my mouth shut so that I won’t upset anyone [read her], I mean, at the end of the day if I can watch Numb3rs and Grey’s Anatomy when we get home from cards this evening I will be happy regardless of the configuration of the equipment used to record it.

Bliss would laugh, when we lived together it was my role to look after such things, so she would know how hard it is for me to bite my lip and not interfere…

I am telling you this because it is making me crazy.

And blogging it takes the edge off.

I like the “offloading” quality of blogging – it’s the anonymity combined with the support of unseen friends.
I know what you mean about trying not to interfere though – when the OH is navigated around a computer it’s all I can do to grab the mouse off him. Sooo slooow!

Hey Miss Quirky Deelightful! (And just a tad control freakish, but hey… we love ya anyway!)
Are you around to chat right now? Or will you be soonish? I really REALLY need you…

    Okay, never mind…
I see from the time there that you’re still at work, so I guess chatting’s out of the question, at least for now.
Let me know what time (in how many hours, I mean) you get home, but please, if you have other plans, don’t rush or stress or anything. It can wait.

I can do those things, though I prefer to pretend that I can’t, because it gets me out of a lot of hard work in the end.

One should always remember that the technically minded (poss. geeks) do not take criticism kindly. Best not to ruffle their feathers. Just change it when they aren’t around.

The announcement was probably made whilst you were away. It was on my blog entry on the 5th of September. Thanks for the congrats.
