When you live in Australia and have a first time visitor as a house guest you take them to Taronga Zoo. If you’re lucky enough to have a small godson…
You take him too!!
There are more pictures… click on the Pelly-Can. The’re are a few from the last camera club excursion as well!!

God let his creativity run free … you see he’d just done New Zealand and they wanted all their birds to be brown …..
I love pelicans, they’re my second favourite bird (favourite is the cockie)

Marsupials – how fab is that? My fave is the duck-billed platypus, made of leftovers!
Umm, btw, think my previous comment came out as smug. Was not meant to be, was sort of saying don’t give up, while trying not to be sympathetic. :/ Apols for that.
Keep up the brill photos, tho, I love ’em.
Ian says
Great photos! And I love the one of the pelican.
I can’t wait until I can take my niece to Taronga: it is a great zoo. Have the elephants moved into their new area yet?
deeleea says
I’m with you Jack… totally bonkers… I think God had a meltdown when he got to Australia…
Ian, the elephants aren’t yet there… In quarantine on the Cocos Islands at this stage and still their arrival is subject to appeal by the animal rights activists still protesting…
Could take quite some time yet.
Jack the Lass says
That’s a great picture Dee.
I still think your wildlife is bonkers!
