It’s been a long time, and after a serious of embittered conversations (over a number of hours) with ISP’s and tech support desks I’m now not only back on DSL at home, I’m wireless.
So, I sat outside with my unfrozen margarita, the long overgrown lawn in the background, the constant traffic hum from the main road punctuated by the chirrup of tree frogs (or crickets) and I worked until the mosquitoes drove me inside.
A grand total of around 5 minutes. That adds up to about 1 itchy welt per minute.
Still, I’m wireless, and I can take the laptop to bed with me and still be writing to you if I choose. And before I blog from the garden again I’ll get the mozzie coils a smouldering to clear the air. But you can bet your bottom dollar I will be blogging from the garden again.
Once the lawns are mown… [note to self – bang the door down at the agents if that’s what it takes to get things done!]
Life is good.
Hey, I’m wireless with an unfrozen margarita too (though to be fair, it was frozen when I made the pitcher 3 hours ago…but something came up).
Are you feeling the love? Maybe we’re twins separated at birth.
Gahhh! You make me jealous! Not about the mozzie bites, but being able to go wireless outside. I have the most beautiful balcony which enjoys the most amazing summer climate but if I take my laptop out there to work, I can’t see a damn thing on the screen. It’s the sun’s way of telling me to just enjoy its presence. But it’s so frustrating!
Ms Mac. I’m all sympathy… really… swiss alps, Europe on the Doorstep versus my long overgrown garden with a wild rabbit and rabit mosquitos…
Wanna swap?
Jay – no doubt about it. Wish you were here!
WiFi rocks for so many different reasons! I love that I can be downloading (shhhh!) TV shows on the iMac while also watching one on that lovely big screen, and be lounging on the bed with the iBook, updating my site as I watch. And of course, there are no wires to trip over when you’ve had one too many margaritas.
Although…since there’s no such thing as one too many margaritas…
WiFi? Blogging outside? Blogging in bed?
Bah!
So secretly envious.
very cool … mind you, I’m very grateful that my little ‘island’ in Tasmania is classified as remote and they have received the wonders of broadband! Wirelessness may be too much to ask for :)
Ok, this is taking the interweb to a whole new level…the bathroom? the loo…
and i though I had it bad!!!
Wirelessness rocks. Very useful when you’re in the middle of a really good msn messenger conversation and you just can’t ‘hold on’ any longer. *snigger*
You know that you’ve gone to far when you urf in the bath…
not fair!! *i* want to be wireless!!
