Well, if you can believe it, it’s a year since I took the pledge and became an Aussie.
A dinky di, bona fide Australiana. So, what better way to celebrate than to exercise my right to vote in the State elections on Saturday?
I’m happy to have the privilege of exercising that right but this time around, all I can say is thank goodness the local leading contender in my electorate is an Independent because between the Liberals (conservatives – go figure) and the ALP (Australian Labour Party) it feels a little like being between the Devil and the deep blue sea…

    It’s a lot like that, even at federal level, isn’t it? I think that’s why so many young people in particular are going the Green vote.

    to be honest, I’m kinda glad I’ve got to vote in the Tassie elections now … at least I even-handedly have no idea about the candidates! I honestly don’t know who I would have voted for in NSW yesterday
