Tragic

September 7, 2004 by

I can’t believe what I am singing this morning… Need to put the radio on to evict it from my head …

Too happy – too cheesy…

Feeling stressed, constantly at the moment – partly to do with lack of resolution on job, partly to do with Bliss leaving at end of October and no one obvious yet to replace her, partly to do with YGM2 and the “what if he’s an axe wielding maniac” factor…

Stressed would be ok if it was only felt in tight shoulders or something innocuous… However, stress goes straight to my stomach so I am feeling nauseous… constantly.

Needless to say, on top of the world doesn’t really match my mood…. Still I have movie tickets and am going to the movies tonight! And tomorrow!

So will feel better by Friday – to be sure… then maybe my posts will be a little less cranky …

I Didn’t Blog Yesterday

September 6, 2004 by

That is pretty much a first … I got to the end of the day and was stuffed… just didn’t have the strength to open the laptop…

I was on screens at church last night – sitting in the back of the auditorium making sure the song lyrics are projected at precisely the right times and for the prescribed duration per phrase.

I blew it too

One song was thrown in as an extra before the preach… I didn’t recognized it and panicked trying to remember the song from the intro in time to get the screen up before the singing started… Failed miserably… but found it in time for the second verse!

It is a funny thing, being on screens, it is not in my nature to panic as a rule, until I am under that particular pressure!!! Still – no flaming arrows from heaven or the pulpit appeared so I think I got away with it…

Another extended conversation on the phone with YGM2. We have progressed to home phone numbers… this is due to the excessive cost of mobile phone calling and sms (bl**dy telcos) and the fact I had 46 sent messages in my phone… at 22c a message it soon adds up…

Very easy on the ear, a South African accent …

Photo indicates YGM2 is reasonably easy on the eye too… girlish giggle

Will leave some time free on Saturday for the f2f meeting … Hope I can wait that long… I have far to much on early in the week and will need time for the hairdresser and a manicure…

1am

September 4, 2004 by

My maternal Grandmother died today.

I feel completely untouched by it too so have been reluctant to tell people because I wouldn’t know what to do with the sympathy.

In truth she was my step grandmother but raised my mother from age 4 this is no small achievement considering Mum had 4 older siblings as well. ‘Grandma in Tauranga’ was never really an object of affection for us – a lot of not so happy family history – so maybe I shouldn’t be surprised by how I feel. Perhaps had I been in NZ and able to attend the funeral on Monday it might be a different story… Maybe if I saw her or saw Mum’s grief it would be different too

However,

She was a good Presbyterian and sang in the choir
She loved her garden and raised beautiful flowers
She did what she could to raise 5 kids, yet sadly had none of her own.
She found love with a dear friend late in life who’s mind left her long before he did
Her house was always spotless
She used to have us come to stay for holidays
She had a huge grapefruit tree which bore much fruit

Isn’t that weird? I can’t think of anything else…

So there you have it.

My Grandmother died today.

CSI Night

August 24, 2004 by

It’s Tuesday, and even though Olympics are on I am getting comfortable in time for my regular appointment with CSI. Sadly, and again, because of the Olympics, it will be a repeated episode. I think Australia has the longest CSI season in the world, given the number of times it has been padded out with repeats. Enough to make you crazy … Gah, I need a life, I can’t believe I am blogging about tv.

No news from the G.O.D.S.* Also no contact from YGM this week at all… I think it is safe to say that little foray into cyber dating is over… So I went scoping out the new listings at the G.O.D.S today, a couple of possibilities but haven’t got the nerve up yet. Might need a couple of chardys first…
