Keeping Mum

October 10, 2005 by

I know how to do stuff. Stuff that is technical… stuff that other people often ask me about.

Stuff like setting up the TV and Video and DVD Player and Stero and Sound System. Actually, I used to do this for a living… over the phone no less.

As I write Flick is setting up the TV and Sound System and I am keeping my mouth shut. After all, she is a TV/Video editor, she ought to know how to do it. She also doesn’t take kindly to my helping.

The DVD player and the stereo system belongs to her and as I don’t want to provoke a riot I will continue to keep my mouth shut so that I won’t upset anyone [read her], I mean, at the end of the day if I can watch Numb3rs and Grey’s Anatomy when we get home from cards this evening I will be happy regardless of the configuration of the equipment used to record it.

Bliss would laugh, when we lived together it was my role to look after such things, so she would know how hard it is for me to bite my lip and not interfere…

I am telling you this because it is making me crazy.

And blogging it takes the edge off.

A Matter of Courtesy

October 1, 2005 by

I do declare that the whole Mr Africa business finished in a manner that was far from expected.

You may remember that I had declared my intent to reduce our whirlwind romance to a much more simpler set up as friends. I mean really… what was I thinking? Whistfully wiling away the hours day dreaming about chocolate babies and safaris to shoot elephants (settle down… I meant with the Nikon)… So, having written a cheerful and apologetic epistle to that effect I had expected a reply.. disappointed perhaps, but a reply nonetheless…

I also expected that maybe, given how well we had seemed to connect, he might just suggest that friendship would be welcome. But the bugger hasn’t written a word…

So, I’m back in the e-dating game… and today? A new bite at the well baited profile… and Red? Just so you know, this one actually lives in my neighbourhood…

Looong Weekend

September 30, 2005 by

I decided to take the day off. Pathetic isn’t it? I’ve just come back from a week in Hawaii and I need a long weekend… It’s a public holiday on Monday too so I have 4 days stretching out before me with no work, and no worries.

It’s just that the no worries part isn’t quite so easy to get past…

I need some time to work that stuff out, and ususally I feel that way when things are out of control…

And they are…

So that’s what the weekend’s about… getting back in control.

Though I have a feeling it doesn’t start with watching Good Morning Australia… So I guess I’d better get up.
