The Old Red White and Blue

September 14, 2004 by

I continue to keep a close eye on all the statistics relevant to this blog etc. But I have noticed that for the last week or more there is a disturbing lack of colour on my flags page…

Nothing but red, white and blue!!

The countries have varied but there must only be appeal in my blog for people living under such flags.

Today the representatives are from Australia, UK, America, NZ and the Netherlands… the Dutch one being the first non OZ, Brit, Yank, Kiwi reader for a week…

Not sure what it all means but am getting very bored with red white and blue…

A Good Flogging

September 10, 2004 by

The morning songs are appearing to be a pretty comprehensive look at the Nova96.9 playlist. With the exception of the Hillsong and Carpenters numbers.

The crazy thing is, the only time I listen to the radio, and by extension, that radio station is the 15 minutes each way to work in the morning.

I have other music on ALL day in the office. All of it melodic, some of it quite lovely, not lovely like the Carpenters but lovely in an uplifiting and sometimes soothing way. And I wake up singing Linkin Park.

Sigh.

Sigh again -I have not heard from YGM2 last night or today. This is not of grave concern, but it is disappointing, and I am tossing up whether to send discreet sms to say hi or just wait till he calls – the eternal feminine dilemma…

Actually, having nightmares that he has found this blog before I could warn him I wrote it or let him know that he features prominently therein – in an unrecognizable fashion of course. There were 3 links to my blog from an hitherto unknown link on my flog, (which has since been deleted-the link, I mean) what if he read all about it and now is giving me the silent treatment ???

Good grief … It’s official… I am pathetic…

Tis Time for a List

August 29, 2004 by

A list of ways in which it is preferable not to be woken up. – To be Fair, not all of these are from experience …
But Some Are …

1. A Dog Licking Your Face.
2. The Next Door Neighbour’s alarm clock – especially if he has gone on vacation and forgotten to turn it off.
3. Food noises from the living room.
4. A child with a cold sneezing on you.
5. Police Cars screeching to a halt, sirens blaring, outside your apartment building.
6. A Cockroach or a Weta walking across your arm.
7. A Rush of cold air when a window blows open, especially if it is accompanied by rain.

I think the only good way to wake up is to do it uninterrupted, when you have had as much sleep as your body needs. Correct me if I am wrong, but this could be revolutionary. If we all worked once we had woken rather than woken in order to go to work it would be lovely and we would be happier little campers, (or workers) wouldn’t we? At least I know I would…

The Morning Report

August 23, 2004 by

Sunday came and went with Bliss and me skipping church in favour of hanging with our homies. It was a great time! It was a little embarrassing to admit to people that we had lived there for 2 and a half years and didn’t know anyone… Partly because we live on the top floor with no communal area and they all live on the ground floor and share a yard.

Another quiet week at work looking likely – have nearly finished the website I have been putting together so am very happy to feel as though I have achieved something in the last month. Has been pretty dead other than that little project.

I am the only body in the office today so might have to move upstairs to hang out with some of my friends… There is quiet, and there is TOO quiet!
