Inside Deeleea’s head Handbag

October 6, 2005 by

I suspect that everything you could possibly want to know about me and my personalitiesy could be told from a look inside my handbag…

I’m interested myself in what’s in there so for the 1st time in a month or more I have emptied it onto the table to, well, sort of tidy it up… I wanted to take a picture of it but for some reason my phone isn’t in it… Must be on the desk at work… You’ll just have to make do with my word for it!!

My Precious
The USB charger for My Precious
The plastic caps from the USB cable for My Precious
This album I have loaded it into My Precious so the cd is a bit redundant now… (It’s good too!![the album, that is…])
An Invoice for Proper Job for hosting or something
A Mouse (the computer kind)
A pocket sized deodorant
4 Lip Balms
2 Lip Sticks
Cuticle Oil
A Highlighter
A Pay Slip from Proper Job
A CD Folder, bulging, contains >20 cds (all computer programs
2 folders of photos (dancing ones… will upload the scans soon)
An Empty film cannister
7 pens, no wonder I can never find one in my desk
A retractable pencil
2 Hair Ties
2x packs of foul tasting Listerine strips, damn, needed those today – forgot about them…
Wallet
Diary, bulging with miscellaneous paper
A Package addressed to KFC (the Kiwifruit Fridgemagnet Collective)
A tube of Sunblock 30+
Loose Change in the amount of $1.21 includes a penny (USD)
A Band Aid
Hair Brush
Nail Clippers
6 Miscellaneous cds of photos/mp3s for various website projects on the go…
Chocolate Wrapper mini Bounty Bar
Brochure about Arts Connect
Black fluffies for My Precious’ earbuds ( I never use ’em…)
The iTrip for (you guessed it) My Precious
Model Releases
A receipt for an online software purchase
Benefit Claim forms for 2 of my Previous Super Funds

Apart from the odd Dust Bunny and scraps of paper that’s about it…

I definitely need a handbag transplant…

It Should Be Noted …

September 27, 2005 by

Many of you may have heard me mention Pia before, she is a very welcome lurker at Singular Scene …
I was on the receiving end of a bit of a stern talking to from her this afternoon because in yesterday’s entry I alluded to lunch without giving Pia her proper respect.
Let me refresh your memory.
[excerpt]
3. Lunch
[end excerpt]
… The element that I neglected to mention was that lunch was actually made by Pia’s own fair hands and served up in the company of a group of rather sensational girls. Barbeque Chicken with salad and potatoes and Michel’s Lemon Tart for dessert… Entirely deelishus.
So, behind every entry there could be any number of other stories but I’ll leave those to your imagination!! I mean, how many stories can there be behind “Hoovering”?
Anyway… thank you Pia not only for the great lunch and the great company but also for the great attention you give to my world by reading the drivel I write … but best of all for praying when the going is tough… You’re a real hero.

Casting Off

September 13, 2005 by

I fulfilled my duty as a citizen and New Zealander today.
I voted. (Thanks for the reminder Fi!!)
I downloaded the voting forms and faxed of my application to the powers that be that someone, somewhere in the gods, sees sense and Our Lady Helen of the Rampant Liberals gets ousted once and for all…
Problem is the alternative is equally scary…
Sigh.
I shouldn’t be concerned anymore really should I? I mean, I don’t live there and haven’t done for almost 7 years and it is only a question of time before I take that big leap into the citizenship pool and become an Australian. I need to really, then I can vote here and actually contribute meaningfully to society (and feel qualified to complain when the need arises…)
It’s quite timely really as one of the outcomes of the Hawaiian conference was a newfound bonding with Australia and with the whole reason I am here. I really am planning to instigate proceedings to become the real deal…
Shhhhh
Don’t tell the family… I might be excommunicated

A post from Over the Ditch

September 7, 2005 by

Ssshh! *sneaks in, cases the place, drinks the milk straight from the bottle and puts it back in the fridge*
Fi from Kiwifruit here, doing the guestpost bit.
Looks like Deeleea’s still sunning herself on the beaches of Hawaii and sipping exotic drinks with tiny umbrellas and maraschino cherries floating in them.
Lucky, lucky her!
In Big News from Deeleea’s country of birth, it’s the thrice-yearly general elections coming up in one week’s time. It’s the first time I’ve voted since 1993 – not because of apathy, but because I was out of the country each time.
The first time I was living in Manly, Sydney in a cockroach infested apartment with an Aussie truckdriver. It was an eye-opener, living in another country. All those insects! All those loud birds! (crows, cockatoos, rosellas – Australian birds are so noisy!) and all those Aussies with their funny accents!
But the best part about Australia? Charcoal Chicken. There’s one on every main street and boy do they make the best chicken ever.
And the second and third times I was living in London, but that’s another story.
Anyway, I’d better get out of here before I start to waffle on about the good old days.
Have a great day!
