I Take it ALL Back

October 24, 2004 by

Ok… it’s like this… when I promised not to rave in dribbly fashion about my gorgeous nieces and nephews it was before the little peach arrived on my doorstep from New Zealand yesterday.

HE IS GORGEOUS!

There, I said it… a real little treasure…

So…. here’s the thing and the reason my eyes are on stalks this morning…

Sis and babe and I all slept in my room last night. Sis and I sleep like logs in usual circumstances… so I had no qualms sharing the bed.

However… his nibs snuffles… cries… tossess and turns… and generally was a preventative measure in terms of my ability to sleep last night. Sis appeared to be completely immune to his quaint night time charms.. I, however, am not. AND… As NZ is 3 hours ahead of us due to daylight savings also he was was up round 4am…

So… the time is now 7.06… Sis and Bliss are sacked out, on the sofa and bed respectively and Bubs is back in his crib…

Me? What? Sleep in the daytime… gah.. physically impossible….

Sigh… so I am posting and eating breakfast and not complaining at all because to have them here is worth far more than a good night’s sleep!

Blog Principles

October 23, 2004 by

There are a number of things you are unlikely to find if you are surfing and stumble across my blog.

1. Discourse about the American race for the Presidency
2. Discussion about sports – though I could get into the rugby union, it really isn’t what you came here for is it?
3. Talk about arts and crafts though I am accomplished *blushes* at some of these things.
4. dribbly raves about my gorgeous niece and nephews even though the littlest one is coming tomorrow from NZ for a whole week. (I might have to take this one back during this week…)
5. Financial dialogue (except where it pertains to my lack of finance for shopping)
6. Current affairs

You will see mention of some of the following

1. My tragic love life
2. the occasional glass of wine (hmm wine… lovely stuff)
3. Observations about humanity
4. occasional observations about deity

hmmmm… I actually dont even know what I am writing so will down tools and to bed… sadly lacking in energy this week… must be time to hit the Berocca…

On Being a Girl

October 21, 2004 by

I am a girl, I cannot deny it. I am very happy to be a girl though there are some elements of girlish behaviour that are stereotypical to which I subscribe and some to which I don’t.

So, here are two lists which will tell you more about me than you probably wanted to know…

Girlish behaviour…
1. I like to wear skirts (but not all the time)
2. I am happy to be driven rather than to drive
3. I don’t mind flirting
4. I like to have the door opened for me
5. I like to have my hair done at the salon (but wish it cost a lot less)
6. I am happy to be the only cook in the house
7. I pluck my eyebrows (ouch)
8. I do my make up every morning
9. I get PMS occasionally

Non Girlish behaviour
1. I drink beer (oops nearly wrote beef…) from the bottle.
2. I hate shopping.
3. I love rugby (union) and can talk about it at length.
4. I would rather cut my fingernails off short than have them manicured.
5. I hate buying shoes and wear any I buy TO DEATH rather than buy new ones.
6. I hate parties even ones with flirting opportunities.
7. I do not buy anything pink unless it is a gift for my niece.
8. I hate home decorating shows and magazines… really hate them.
9. I do not watch Oprah … or chat shows… or soap operas of any kind…
10. Once I have done my hair in the morning it is done till I do it again the next day…. same with lipstick (if I bother with that at all).
11. I don’t use PMS as an excuse for bad behaviour

I could go on.. and on… but have to go and get ready for work … I have to leave in 45min… yep… that much of a girl that it is going to take that long to get presentable…

Bleary Eyed and Basically Incoherent

October 20, 2004 by

12.30am over here… I have stayed up for an hour and a half longer than necessary and here is why.

I signed up to this and have been reading lots of lovely new blogs. Got to get it out of my system so am plugging shamelessly for them… Yes I am a statistics junkie… If you are too and want more traffic… lets make it a joint project and see if it actually works…
