Comfort Drink

Mmmm Hot chocolate …

– Fill one generous sized mug with milk … preferably full cream.
– Add one capful of Bailey’s Irish Cream (actually, cap is a flexible measure… relative to the kind of day you’ve had).
– Spoon in 2 heaped teaspoons of chocolate powder (or 3 … ).
– Add 5 marshmallows (my preference are for white ones… pink ones should go to the bottom of the bag).
– Stir a little bit but not so much as to dissolve all the chocolate, it’s better if it sticks all over the marshys (yum).
– Microwave for 2 minutes 30 until the mallows are all melty and sticky …
– Sip the milk slowly through the marshmallows until you can’t stand it any longer and have to spoon out the marshmallows and gobble them all up.

Sleep well….

Procrstinate …. Procrastinate …. Procrastinate

July 29, 2004 by

I should be marking assignments… I taught a worship class to 65 students last semester and now I have a pile of pages telling me what worship is all about. I am more than halfway through but have hit a bad patch of markers block… I thought you might like to see some of the funnier passages I have had to give a grade to…

“Whatever it is in our heart is going to our brine, Our heart is like a keyboard, and our mind is like the hard dick. Whatever we type in our heart will go to the mind and it will analyze inside of us and then we produce.”

“Worship is an essential part of the Christian Life as a whole. Whether it is in an individual setting or in the formal setting of a church, It has the power to move God and bring his presents in a room”

Needless to say it has been an entertaining project…

No news on the job front. The last week has been turbulent as I process a lot of very heavy stuff I have been subject to this year. Feeling more objective this week and hope to be back on the level once my boss arrives back in the country. One day I will write the work story … Still a bit tender on it at the moment.

No news on the new job front … very little response to applications sent which has been disappointing, I mean, can’t they tell from my resume how fabulous I am???
Hmmm maybe not! Might have another look at it… maybe I could put a picture on it… Must remember to put the picture up the right way though… saw someone’s this week which was forwarded around by a recruiter friend… Lovely picture, wrong way up … Would you hire them???

Signed up with another G.O.D.S this week … not finding them very inspiring but looking for fodder for blog rather than life partner… Figure the next step might actually be to write to some of these “advertisers” rather than waiting for them to contact me… seems to be the only way to get mail…

Will let you know who replies…

By Way of an Aside

July 22, 2004 by

Not very much action this week as have returned to work and thus thoughts have returned to making coffees and administering (Or should that be administrating???) rather than snapping up some poor unsuspecting eligible bachelor.

I have actually found myself smack bang in the middle of an epiphany and it has caused no small amount of emotional upheaval…

The epiphany is this “What if the call of God on my life is actually not about working for the church or serving “the man” and all about following Him “God” – even if that means into a job in the secular workplace?”

All at once the earth shook, the clouds parted and a voice from heaven said.

“Well…. Hellloooooo, what took you so long????”

After seeking wise counsel am sorting out my poor muddled brain, forgiving myself for feeling disloyal for even considering such a travesty and drawing red circles on newspaper.

Conspiracy Theory

July 19, 2004 by

I am under siege.

Bliss and Surf are hounding me. It seems that having opened the door for discussion about singular living that I am now fair game.

Picture this:

Happy blogging and minding my own business and get instant message saying, “Surf’s up”. Haven’t had good chat with Surf while on holiday so invite him over for Thai for Three with Bliss and me.

Surf and Bliss both appear to be proud of my recent dating achievements and are giving all sorts of totally dodgy dating advice so that I will keep up the action and not closet myself away with the laptop. I choose to believe that this largely because they love me and want me to be happy… (But they may also be doing it for the laughs… hence the conspiracy theory angle.)

Logged on to G.O.D.S while they were there. Bliss loved it, she is a bit of a cyberspace novice and was amazed at a) the existence of such marvels of modern relationships and b) the variety of subscribers. Surf** was funny. Freaked him out, kind of like girlfriends for sale. We couldn’t decided why… maybe its a guy thing, or maybe, due to his veritable youthliness (he is our toy-boy friend), the desperation to find someone that comes at thirty-five hasn’t yet kicked in…

Browsed anonymously for a while… with Bliss egging me on (I am sensing a theme here …) “send someone a message! What about him? Or him? Or even him?????”

Have not yielded to the pressure…

**By, the way, you must understand about Surf, while he is single and gorgeous we are good friends and will stay that way. I am throwing that in because I have been asked about him (nudge and wink kind of asking)more than once and want to state for the record. “Surfing is NOT an option” …. OK?? Good!)
