BedBlog 2.19pm

August 1, 2004 by

I have realised on writing previous entry that I do a significant amount of blogging from my bed. Is this something I should be worried about do you think?

I think it is a very nice place to blog from, for the following reasons.

1. It is warm when the air around it is cold (Electrically assisted …).
2. It is soft and cushy and there are lots of pillows on it.
3. The window it is next to looks out over the ocean.
4. It is big enough that I can have all my books, journals AND laptop on it all at the same time.
5. It has a table beside it for my cup of tea (English Breakfast, strong, white and none).
6. I can stretch my feet all the way out in front of me making a lovely sized repository for the laptop.
7. I can wear my pajamas in it (or not, if I should prefer).
8. If I get sleepy I don’t have far to fall.
9. It is the only place in the house where no one else goes (actually that has it’s down sides…)

I can’t think of a 10th reason… largely because I am about to nod off… (see reason below.)

Sunday is a Close Second 2.06pm

August 1, 2004 by

I was up at 6am …

YAWN.

Actually, the alarm went off at 6 and I got up round 6.15 so the fact that I managed to wash my hair, dress, dry my hair, makeup and leave home in 30 minutes is not to be considered a small feat. Well, at least I’m proud of it…

We have 2 services on a Sunday morning, one at 8 and one at 10. I was attending SO early because I was waving my arms at the choir this morning.

This is not an unusual occurrence, I do it most Thursday nights too. We have a jolly good time, there is quite a conglomeration of people who take part, with varying degrees of vocal gifting… We also have varying degrees of attention span as well, which give a whole new meaning to waving one’s arms at the choir. Sadly, said waving has been known to occur with the view to waking one or two choristers up, alerting to the need for rearranging their clothing to discreetly tuck away belly buttons and finally, this morning, to get the gentle swaying together back in time.

We have a long way to go … But we have a lot of fun on the way there!!!

Saturday

July 31, 2004 by

Is quite possibly the best day of the week.

A whole 15 hours to be filled with just the things you like (Thankfully I don’t work in retail…) It’s 9.30am and I am still in bed and I am meditating on what to do with the rest of the day.

These are the possibilities…

1. Get coffee from Zero (#12 below, will knock of #13 as well!)
2. Go to the Maritime Museum (not my usual haunt on a Saturday but researching and getting inspired for a book I’m writing).
3. Get ready for party tonight, need to wear Indian type costume… thinking might just settle for stacks of bangles and a jewelly thingy for my forehead… but if time permits will explore possibility of purchasing sari type fabric. Looking forward to a good curry… Actually add that to the list below.
4. Tidying my room. (This is way low on the list)
5. Laundry. TOTAL Bummer; washer is dead, so have to go the the laundromat… Low on the list but imperative due to lack of clean knickers…
6. Ring Mum.
7. Get up…Hmmmm that should be at the top of the list or I’m not going to achieve anything today.
