Saturday

July 31, 2004 by

Is quite possibly the best day of the week.

A whole 15 hours to be filled with just the things you like (Thankfully I don’t work in retail…) It’s 9.30am and I am still in bed and I am meditating on what to do with the rest of the day.

These are the possibilities…

1. Get coffee from Zero (#12 below, will knock of #13 as well!)
2. Go to the Maritime Museum (not my usual haunt on a Saturday but researching and getting inspired for a book I’m writing).
3. Get ready for party tonight, need to wear Indian type costume… thinking might just settle for stacks of bangles and a jewelly thingy for my forehead… but if time permits will explore possibility of purchasing sari type fabric. Looking forward to a good curry… Actually add that to the list below.
4. Tidying my room. (This is way low on the list)
5. Laundry. TOTAL Bummer; washer is dead, so have to go the the laundromat… Low on the list but imperative due to lack of clean knickers…
6. Ring Mum.
7. Get up…Hmmmm that should be at the top of the list or I’m not going to achieve anything today.

Comfort Drink

July 30, 2004 by

Mmmm Hot chocolate …

– Fill one generous sized mug with milk … preferably full cream.
– Add one capful of Bailey’s Irish Cream (actually, cap is a flexible measure… relative to the kind of day you’ve had).
– Spoon in 2 heaped teaspoons of chocolate powder (or 3 … ).
– Add 5 marshmallows (my preference are for white ones… pink ones should go to the bottom of the bag).
– Stir a little bit but not so much as to dissolve all the chocolate, it’s better if it sticks all over the marshys (yum).
– Microwave for 2 minutes 30 until the mallows are all melty and sticky …
– Sip the milk slowly through the marshmallows until you can’t stand it any longer and have to spoon out the marshmallows and gobble them all up.

Sleep well….

Procrstinate …. Procrastinate …. Procrastinate

July 29, 2004 by

I should be marking assignments… I taught a worship class to 65 students last semester and now I have a pile of pages telling me what worship is all about. I am more than halfway through but have hit a bad patch of markers block… I thought you might like to see some of the funnier passages I have had to give a grade to…

“Whatever it is in our heart is going to our brine, Our heart is like a keyboard, and our mind is like the hard dick. Whatever we type in our heart will go to the mind and it will analyze inside of us and then we produce.”

“Worship is an essential part of the Christian Life as a whole. Whether it is in an individual setting or in the formal setting of a church, It has the power to move God and bring his presents in a room”

Needless to say it has been an entertaining project…

No news on the job front. The last week has been turbulent as I process a lot of very heavy stuff I have been subject to this year. Feeling more objective this week and hope to be back on the level once my boss arrives back in the country. One day I will write the work story … Still a bit tender on it at the moment.

No news on the new job front … very little response to applications sent which has been disappointing, I mean, can’t they tell from my resume how fabulous I am???
Hmmm maybe not! Might have another look at it… maybe I could put a picture on it… Must remember to put the picture up the right way though… saw someone’s this week which was forwarded around by a recruiter friend… Lovely picture, wrong way up … Would you hire them???

Signed up with another G.O.D.S this week … not finding them very inspiring but looking for fodder for blog rather than life partner… Figure the next step might actually be to write to some of these “advertisers” rather than waiting for them to contact me… seems to be the only way to get mail…

Will let you know who replies…
